Summary of Fees Associated with Damaged, Lost, or Stolen Technology

Columbus ISD has been fortunate to institute at 1:1 technology program to facilitate 21st Century Learning. Students and their families assume responsibility for all district-owned, student-issued devices checked out to them. Students that damage, lose, or have technology equipment stolen shall be issued an invoice for the cost of repairs or replacement of the equipment. Flexible payment options are available to help ease the burden on the family. The invoice will be generated by the Director of Technology once an assessment of the repair has been completed. Failure to pay by the student and his or her family for damaged, lost, or stolen equipment may result in the student’s checkout privileges being revoked, as well as the participation in commencement exercises (CHS Graduating Seniors).

The fees below represent a conservative amount to repair or replace the device. (Total loss refers to the device being damaged beyond repair or stolen.)
