District Advisory Council
Annually, Columbus ISD organizes its District Advisory Council and begins the planning cycle for the year. The committee serves in an advisory capacity to the superintendent on matters relating to district operations, including planning, staffing, curriculum, and instruction, and use of resources. The committee is composed of elected teaching and non-teaching professionals from the campuses, district professional staff, parents, community members and business representatives.
The committee went through the process of renewing the District of Innovation Plan. On December 9, 2021, a public meeting was held to consider the final version of the proposed plan for an additional 5 years and was approved by a majority vote of the committee members. Columbus ISD Board of Trustees approved the renewal of the local innovation plan at the January 10, 2022 regular meeting. Posted below is the renewed plan.
