Step 2: Fingerprint Appointment/Background Check

All new hires undergo fingerprinting through the Texas Education Agency. This process involves submitting a request through the TEAL portal.  You MUST complete the Criminal History Form with Attachments that will be sent to your personal email through ReadySign. Please DO NOT make an appointment prior to receiving your email link as you could schedule and pay for the wrong kind. You will receive an email within 24-48 hours of your recommendation for hire. Processing fingerprints typically takes 2-5 days to complete once initiated. Fingerprinting cost is the responsibility of the new hire. The closest office surrounding our district is located in Weimar Texas.

If you are already fingerprinted for the school system this step can be skipped.
