Columbus ISD Board Approves Dr. Chris Carpenter as Superintendent
The Columbus ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the hiring of Dr. Chris Carpenter as the district’s next Superintendent during the Board meeting held on May 14, 2026. Dr. Carpenter will officially begin serving as Superintendent on June 1, 2026.
Dr. Carpenter was named the lone finalist on April 22, 2026, following a comprehensive search process conducted in partnership with TASB Executive Search Services. The process included staff and community input, leadership profile development, and multiple rounds of interviews.
Columbus ISD is excited to welcome Dr. Carpenter and looks forward to his leadership as the district continues its commitment to student success, staff support, and community engagement.
