Child Find

Columbus ISD is required to implement a comprehensive Child Find system in which district personnel work to locate and identify students with disabilities. The Child Find process is set up to identify and evaluate all children who are suspected of needing special education and related services who reside within the district's boundaries. This extends to all children with disabilities, including those who are homeless, highly mobile, migrants, in foster care, homeschooled, court-involved or attending private school within the CISD boundaries.
