Columbus Elementary School is a pre-kindergarten through grade five campus located near downtown Columbus, Texas. The nearly 800 students are taught by approximately 50 teachers and 16 paraprofessionals. The excitement level for the subject they teach and their dedication to the campus and District goals are apparent in their daily lessons and routine. They make every child feel important and every effort is made to help him/her to be successful, which makes me very proud to be a part of such a great learning community.
C.E.S. takes pride in challenging its students to be prepared for what tomorrow"s world may bring. Parental involvement and community support are two key components in helping students to achieve at high levels. Conferences and activities are scheduled throughout the year to ensure communication between home and school. The campus Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is also instrumental in supporting the campus in many ways.
Columbus Elementary School gives every child an opportunity to build a basic foundation in all academic areas, provides for enrichment to extend learning in the arts and physical education areas, and promotes a positive experience where all children feel secure and excited about learning.
