Message from the Principal:

Columbus Elementary School is a pre-kindergarten through grade five campus located near downtown Columbus, Texas. The 680 students are taught by approximately 52 teachers and assisted by 17 paraprofessionals. Their dedication to the campus and District are evident in the daily operation of the school. They are excited about the subjects that they teach. They make every child feel important and every effort is made to help him/her to be successful.

C.E.S. takes pride in challenging its students to "Be the Best". Parent involvement and community support are key components in helping students to achieve at high levels. Conferences and activities are scheduled throughout the year to ensure communication between home and school. The campus Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is also instrumental in supporting the campus in many ways.

Columbus Elementary School gives every child an opportunity to build a basic foundation in all academic areas, provides for enrichment to extend learning in the arts and physical education areas, and promotes a positive experience where all children feel secure and excited about learning.
